Guardvant cements its leadership position in Mexico for fatigue monitoring systems with additional orders for OpGuard
TUCSON, Ariz., – August 17, 2015 — Guardvant, Inc., a provider of innovative mining technology continues to grow its installation base of operator fatigue monitoring systems for open pit mines in Mexico. The company has recently added another $4 million in orders from new customers, as well as from mines that have already deployed the OpGuard, Operator Fatigue and Alertness Monitoring System and want to expand its use to additional operations.
Companies that have recently purchased OpGuard include Grupo Acerero del Norte, S.A. de C.V., Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. de C.V. and Goldcorp Inc., as well as numerous other smaller operations. Safety is a priority for Mexican mining companies, and the mines have tested multiple fatigue monitoring systems to ensure that the best selection was made for system performance, and continuing service and support. OpGuard continues to outperform the competition in accurate detection of fatigue and distracted driving events, leading to a reduction in fatigue-related accidents.
Operator fatigue is widely recognized as a leading cause of mining accidents involving mining equipment. OpGuard’s fatigue monitoring technology is the technical foundation of many mines’ fatigue management programs that enables mine managers to prevent accidents before they happen. Fatigue event data captured by OpGuard provides mine managers with verifiable information to be used as part of their fatigue risk management program.
